How do I connect a wireless router to student housing?
There is only ONE way to properly setup a router.
Incorrectly connecting a router to the residential network will automatically deactivate the network port in your room.
In that case, you will be required to wait up to 72 hours for a technician to re-enable the port.
This WAN port (the yellow port below, labeled “INTERNET”) may be labeled as Internet, WAN, Modem, DSL, Cable, or ISP. Connect this port directly to the network port on the wall.
These LAN ports (the blue ports below, labeled “LAN”) are for connecting computers, game consoles, and other devices.
IMPORTANT! Do not connect a numbered LAN port to the network port on the wall. The network port in your room will be automatically disabled.
